Aura and Harmony Trunk Infrastructure Project

Fabrication and civil works delivered on one of Queensland's largest current water infrastructure programs for McConnell Dowell.

Overview

The Aura and Harmony Trunk Infrastructure Project is a $270 million initiative delivering essential water and wastewater services to the growing Aura and Harmony communities on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. We were engaged by McConnell Dowell to deliver fabrication and civil works as part of this major program, under a contract value of $3,917,090, contributing to infrastructure that will service tens of thousands of future residents across the region.

The challenge

McConnell Dowell needed reliable fabrication and civil works delivered as part of the Aura and Harmony Trunk Infrastructure Program, a $270 million initiative requiring coordination across multiple contractors to meet Unitywater's delivery timeline for the growing Sunshine Coast communities.

Our approach

We delivered fabrication and civil works under a $3,917,090 contract as part of this program, with site works supported by our Brisbane workshop, contributing to a project that has installed more than 27.6 kilometres of pipeline connecting water and wastewater infrastructure across Aura and Harmony.

Our contribution supported the delivery of one of Queensland's largest current water infrastructure programs, helping connect essential water and wastewater services to communities projected to grow significantly in the coming decades.

Vaughan Civil Welding Works

Welding works delivered for Vaughan Civil across QLD and NSW.

Overview

We delivered welding works for Vaughan Civil, a contractor delivering water and sewer, gas, electrical, civil, road and rail projects across Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. Vaughan Civil positions itself around delivering solutions from the design stage through to delivery, commissioning and close out, and our welding scope on this project, based in Manly, supported that broader delivery approach.

The challenge

Vaughan Civil needed a certified welding contractor able to deliver quality assured works within a defined program on a live civil site in Manly.

Our approach

Our certified welders delivered the welding scope required for Vaughan Civil's project, working within the agreed program from October to November 2024.

The solution

The welding scope was completed within the agreed timeframe, supporting Vaughan Civil's broader approach of delivering projects from design through to delivery, commissioning and close out.

G&H Civil Fabricate Bracing Works

Ongoing fabricate bracing works delivered for G&H Civil Contractors in Kangaroo Point.

Overview

We have an ongoing role supplying and installing fabricated bracing works for G&H Civil Contractors, a Queensland based civil engineering business founded on a background in civil construction, demolition and plant operations. G&H Civil specialises in piling, retention systems, bulk earthworks and demolition across commercial, industrial, defence and public infrastructure projects, including diaphragm walls and continuous flight auger piling for major developments. Bracing works support piling rigs and retention systems through excavation, and we have supplied and installed this scope for G&H Civil across a variety of urban settings since December 2024.

The challenge

G&H Civil needed a partner able to both fabricate and install bracing works across a variety of urban sites, each with its own access and site conditions, as an ongoing part of their piling and retention programs.

Our approach

We have taken on the fabrication and installation of bracing works for G&H Civil since December 2024, adapting to the conditions of each individual urban site as the engagement continues.

The solution

The ongoing relationship has supported G&H Civil's piling and retention programs across multiple sites, with us continuing to supply and install bracing works as new sites come online.

Beaudesert South West Pipeline Project

Pipeline infrastructure works delivered for Service Stream Utilities across the Beaudesert South West Pipeline Project.

Overview

We delivered pipeline infrastructure works for Service Stream Utilities as part of the Beaudesert South West Pipeline Project, a $95 million, 27 kilometre pipeline connecting Beaudesert to the South East Queensland Water Grid. Delivered for Seqwater, the project also included a new pump station and storage reservoir at the Wyaralong Water Treatment Plant site, and was designed to secure a long term, reliable water supply for the growing Scenic Rim region.

The challenge

Service Stream Utilities and Seqwater needed pipeline infrastructure works delivered reliably across the Beaudesert South West Pipeline corridor, a major program connecting Beaudesert to the South East Queensland Water Grid for the first time.

Our approach

We delivered pipeline infrastructure works as part of this program between November 2023 and June 2024, contributing to a project that included more than 27 kilometres of pipeline and a new pump station and reservoir at Wyaralong.

The solution

The completed program connected Beaudesert to the South East Queensland Water Grid for the first time, the largest addition to the grid since 2012, supporting long term water security for the Scenic Rim region.

Director Experience — Major National Pipeline Infrastructure

Delivered prior to the founding of MXB Group

142km of gas pipeline and a $25 million lateral pipeline project delivered under previous director leadership, prior to founding MXB Group.

Large diameter gas pipeline being installed across remote terrain

Overview

Before founding MXB Group, one of our founding directors held a senior delivery role on major national pipeline infrastructure projects for Spiecapag Australia, including the 142 kilometre Jemena Northern Gas Pipeline (delivered under a $216,000 contract) and the Jemena Atlas Lateral Pipeline Project, a $25 million initiative connecting Wandoan to the broader gas network.

The challenge

These projects demanded delivery at scale across remote and difficult terrain, including the Lihir Tailings Outfall Pipe Replacement in Papua New Guinea, completed for Newcrest via Spiecapag Australia while maintaining uninterrupted plant operations through the height of COVID-19 restrictions.

Our approach

As Construction Manager on the Jemena Atlas Lateral Pipeline Project, this director oversaw delivery of 60 kilometres of DN300 gas pipeline, applying the same hands on, program driven approach that now underpins our civil and fabrication work.

The solution

All three projects were completed to 100% of contracted scope, delivered without interrupting plant operations even on the sensitive PNG works.
This experience now underpins our approach to large scale, program critical infrastructure work.
