Our story

How we got started

MXB Group formed in 2023 by bringing two businesses together, one built on civil contracting experience, the other on fabrication and construction. We grew quickly on the back of major pipeline work, including a significant project with McConnell Dowell on the Sunshine Coast. As pipeline work across the industry slowed, we made a deliberate shift toward workshop fabrication and retaining systems, owning the combination of civil and welding capability that sets us apart.

Meet the Team

We are led by two directors with complementary trade backgrounds, supported by an office manager who keeps every project running smoothly. Beyond our directors, our team includes engineers and tradespeople who bring additional technical depth to every project we deliver.

Kieran Mullane
Director
Kieran brings a civil contracting background dating back to 2011, combined with trade qualifications as a boilermaker. He leads our civil and welding capability, drawing on hands on experience across retaining systems, earthmoving and pipeline infrastructure to make sure every project is delivered to specification. Kieran's passion for finding practical & functional designs has provided our clients with a real-world alternative for their projects.
JP Blanchfield
Director
JP brings a unique blend of hands-on expertise and strategic leadership to MXB Group as a co-founder, with dual qualifications as a Pipefitter and First-Class Welder. JP's comprehensive understanding of complex welding and piping systems, ensures the highest standards of quality and safety in every project. JP is also committed to fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of the industry while meeting and exceeding client expectations.
Hayley Burkhardt
Office Manager
Hayley's diverse construction industry experience in administration, bookkeeping and HR that spans over 16 years, provides her with tenacity to assist with delivery of projects and client relationships. She is passionate about making a difference through the development of genuine relationships and improving on the status quo for all elements in business.
